FARAMOVE 02

To maintain the buzz from the teaser, the launch video tells the story of everyday delivery needs while revealing more of app’s interfaces. The goal was to connect the product to real use cases and prompt immediate action.

UNMUTE

connecting the dots

This phase was about understanding the emotional core of the project. I wasn’t just trying to communicate logistics or “send & receive” features - I wanted the story to feel human. So I sat with the script, searched for references, and hunted for a mood that didn’t just explain the service, but made someone feel why it mattered.

I had a script that I couldn’t deviate from, but the story forming in my head needed room to breathe. The challenge was merging a new emotional narrative into a pre-defined script - without rewriting or reshaping what the team had approved. My tension wasn’t only in the story; it was in figuring out how to fit the story inside the script’s structure.

Working tightly within the script threaded my idea. Where the script mentioned a feature - I'd transition smoothly to the visual that covered it without breaking the storyline. For instance, transitioning from the broken laptop to visuals of Naira notes. I fused the narrative and the script while keeping the emotional arc intact.

Finding the Story Beneath the Script

The idea formed from a mix of real-life experience and unexpected references. While going through mood-setters online, I came across an image of a laptop with sticky notes - around the same time Faramove had actually sent me a laptop, and I’d had a real fear of it breaking. That emotional tension became my anchor.

Then at the timme, I stumbled on a “It’s a gift” UI button from a course I purchased, and it clicked — I could merge both moments into a story about someone sending a cherished item as a gift… only for something to go wrong. That tension became the heartbeat of the concept.

I pulled inspiration heavily from references during this stage. For exaample, Instead of showing a traditionally cracked screen, I created a pixel-style face that shifts from happy to sad at the moment of impact. This gave personality to the laptop without relying on clichés, inspired by a reference I had seen.

Breathing Life into the Frames

With the look established, the next step was bringing the story to life. But not everything goes as planned in production - and this is where decisions, compromises, and improvisations shape the final outcome.

Faramove box spin animation

Some of the planned motion - especially around the 3D vehicle animation hit a wall due to time constraints. The goal was to rig and animate Faramove’s vehicle models, but the timeline wouldn’t allow for proper rigging and realistic motion. We had to rethink quickly without breaking the visual consistency.

Since we couldn’t animate the vehicles realistically, we would stylize their movement instead. So instead of driving, the vehicles were spun, showcased, and transitioned with match-cuts. This preserved visual interest, stayed on-brand, and matched the design’s tone without sacrificing production time.

For this project, we worked with a voice-over artist. I spent time cleaning, leveling, and shaping the vocal track so it fit into the pacing of the animation. Then came the sound effects: subtle impacts, transitions, emotional cues, and supporting ambience. Each effect was tuned to match the visual beats and maintain consistency across scenes.
